Today our 4th graders had the chance to step back in time with a special visit from Mountain Man expert Mr. Wangeman! He shared incredible stories, fascinating artifacts, and tons of knowledge about the lives of Mountain Men. This presentation is always a 4th grade favorite, and our students look forward to it every year!

Thank you for continuing to come back and share your passion with our students, Mr. W—we truly appreciate it. You're the best Mountain Man we know!

We’re working hard to sell enough tickets to help finish funding our Playground Walking Track!

If you’d still like to grab tickets for this Saturday’s pancake breakfast, you can purchase them in the office or send payment via Venmo to @PillarFallsPTO. Just include your name (or your child’s name) and the number of tickets you’re buying in the memo, and we’ll make sure you get them.

📚 Read Across America – Schoolwide Reading Event 📚

As part of Read Across America Week and our ongoing effort to build a strong reading culture, Pillar Falls will be participating in a schoolwide read of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

All families received a copy of the book on Friday. The book was sent with the youngest student in each family.

Over the next two weeks, we encourage families to read the book together at home—whether that’s a few pages at a time, reading aloud, or enjoying the story in a way that works best for your family. The first week of March will include fun, lighthearted activities at school connected to the story and the joy of reading.

This experience is meant to be:

📖 A celebration of reading

🤝 A shared experience across grade levels

🎉 A way to build excitement and community during Read Across America Week

We will also be sending home a link to an audio version of the book, featuring Pillar Falls staff members reading chapters—perfect for listening together at home.

Thank you for helping make this a positive and joyful reading experience for our students and families. We’re excited to take this journey together!

ONE DISTRICT. ONE BOOK.

COMING HOME TOADY! ONE DISTRICT. ONE BOOK.
We’re excited to share that our school is participating in a district-wide reading program called One District. One Book.

This special program is designed to bring families together through the joy of reading! Each family will receive a copy of the same book to read at home, creating shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and a love for stories that extends beyond the classroom.

To support families along the way, we’ll also be sharing links to recorded chapter readings by our staff—so students can listen and follow along anytime!

Throughout the program, we’ll be celebrating our reading journey together with fun activities, discussion questions, and opportunities for students to connect what they’re reading at home with what they’re learning at school.

We can’t wait to partner with our families as we turn the page on this exciting adventure—together!
